Sept. 2, 10:30 a.m. – Beaches Open; Surf Conditions Improve

All 26 miles of our coastline are open for enjoyment today, and due to improving surf conditions, beach flags have been changed from red to yellow.  Beachgoers are advised to use caution as conditions may change.

Aside from a few small tar balls being picked up near the Camp Creek Lake outfall in WaterSound, all beaches were reported clear this morning.

Forecasts call for highs in the upper 80s today, with a very slight chance of rain.  Similar sunny conditions are forecast throughout the Labor Day weekend.

Acting on newly issued Florida Department of Health guidance, the County has removed all Oil Impact Notices from the beaches.

September 1, 11:00 a.m. – All Beaches Open; Minor Tar Ball Impact

All 15 of our beach communities are open for enjoyment and we have received reports of a few small tar balls being cleaned up at Seacrest Beach and WaterColor this morning.

Beachgoers are advised to exercise caution as red flags signifying high surf conditions and possible rip currents are flying over the beaches.  Forecasts show highs are expected to reach 90 degrees with a slight chance of rain.   

Acting on newly issued Florida Department of Health guidance, the County has removed all Oil Impact Notices from the beaches.

August 31, 11:30 a.m. – All Beaches Open; Minor Tar Ball Impact

Visitors and residents are enjoying all 26 miles of our coastline today.  All beaches are open and we’ve received reports of a small amount of tar balls being cleaned up in the WaterSound and Seacrest Beach areas in the eastern portion of the county as well at Miramar Beach in the west.

Forecasts show highs will be in the upper 80s today under mostly sunny skies.  Beachgoers are advised to exercise caution as red flags signifying high surf conditions and possible rip currents are flying over the beaches.

Acting on newly issued Florida Department of Health guidance, the County has removed all Oil Impact Notices from the beaches.
